Leaving a hospital or surgery center can bring relief, but it can also raise a difficult question: are you truly ready to manage at home?
Maison de Serenity provides short-term residential care for adults and older adults who need additional support after hospitalization, surgery, illness, or during a demanding period of life.
Our private residence in Elk Grove gives you a calm place to rest, receive personal assistance, and prepare for your next step. We coordinate with your approved healthcare providers while respecting the services and limits of a California Residential Care Facility for the Elderly.
Here, you are treated as a person with your own needs, routines, preferences, and goals.
What happens when you can leave the hospital, but home still does not feel safe?
We saw people cleared for discharge while they were still weak, unsteady, anxious, or in pain. Some lived alone. Others had families who wanted to help but felt overwhelmed by mobility needs, medication schedules, personal care, meals, and follow-up instructions.
A hotel could provide a room, but not the personal support they needed. A large institutional facility could feel unsuitable for someone seeking a quiet, short-term recovery stay.
Maison de Serenity was created to fill that gap.
Our six-bed residence gives you time, attention, and a comfortable place to recover before returning home or moving to your next care setting.
During your stay, you can:
You should not feel rushed simply because the hospital has completed its part of your care. We give you room to focus on what comes next.
Maison de Serenity was founded by Terry Ogundairo, a licensed nurse and administrator with experience across several demanding areas of healthcare.
Terry’s clinical background includes critical care, stroke care, telemetry, emergency care, geriatrics, and corrections health. This work provided direct insight into complex health needs, changes in condition, communication with physicians, and the concerns families face during care transitions.
Terry also owned and operated a non-emergency transportation business for four years. That experience strengthened practical skills in scheduling, logistics, regulatory documentation, staff coordination, and customer service.
Across these roles, one need remained clear. Many people leave medical care with instructions, appointments, and restrictions, but without enough daily support to follow them safely.
Maison de Serenity grew from a desire to provide that support in a setting where you can feel respected, comfortable, and heard.
As Owner and Administrator, Terry leads daily operations, staff development, regulatory compliance, family communication, and relationships with professional referral sources.
Our mission is to close the gap between medical discharge and a safe return home.
We provide short-term residential care in an intimate six-bed setting where you can receive personal support, regain strength, and follow your recovery plan without feeling lost in a large facility.
We focus on the details that affect each day of your stay: personal care, meals, movement, sleep, comfort, communication, and emotional support.
We also invest in our care team because supported employees have more time and energy to give you patient, consistent attention.
Our vision is to become a respected choice for boutique recovery care in Elk Grove and the Greater Sacramento area.
We want families and healthcare professionals to have access to a small residential option for post-hospital recovery, post-surgical care, respite stays, memory support, and hospice-compatible care.
We aim to show that clinical awareness, personal service, staff support, and a beautiful residential setting can work together responsibly.
We want each guest and family to leave with a clear feeling: this care respected who we are and what we needed.
Good care starts with listening. We take time to understand your health needs, routines, concerns, preferences, and plans for the future.
Five principles guide how we support you.
You are a respected guest, not a room number or list of tasks.
We protect your privacy and speak with you directly. We provide bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support with patience and respect.
No two recovery stays are exactly alike.
Your support plan reflects your current needs, physician instructions, mobility, personal routines, cultural background, dietary preferences, and recovery goals.
Familiar caregivers can provide steadier support.
When team members know your routines and usual behavior, they are better able to notice changes in your mood, appetite, comfort, or function.
Recovery often involves several people.
With your permission, we communicate with your family, physicians, hospital team, surgeon, home health agency, hospice agency, and licensed therapists.
Recovery includes your physical and emotional needs.
We pay attention to nutrition, hydration, sleep, movement, comfort, mood, grooming, conversation, and connection with the people who matter to you.
Every plan begins with a conversation, and adjusts as your recovery moves forward.
Depending on your assessed needs, residential support may include:
Maison de Serenity provides residential care within California RCFE requirements.
Our care model includes RN direction for care planning, communication, monitoring protocols, and decisions about when a change should be reported to an outside medical provider.
Maison de Serenity is not a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or inpatient rehabilitation center. We do not provide invasive procedures, ventilator care, or continuous skilled nursing services on site.
When skilled care is needed, licensed home health nurses, hospice professionals, or therapy providers may visit the residence and deliver those services under their own care plans.
Some health conditions may be supported with proper documentation, physician orders, outside clinical involvement, and individual approval. We assess every prospective guest before admission to confirm that the residence can safely meet their needs.
The quality of your care depends greatly on the people providing it.
Our workforce model is designed around benefited roles, staff training, stable schedules, professional growth, fair treatment, and support for employee well-being.
For you and your family, a stable team can mean:
We care for our employees because their working conditions affect every interaction you have with them.
Our care and leadership team brings together clinical awareness, residential support, hospitality, and daily operational experience.
Each team member receives clear expectations and training for their role. Staff learn how to support personal care, mobility, fall prevention, medication routines, dementia-related needs, communication, documentation, and emergency response.
They also learn something equally important: how to listen.
Your questions, preferences, and concerns deserve a thoughtful response. Families should know who to contact and receive clear updates when needs change.
We want you to know the people caring for you, and we want them to know you.
Choosing a recovery setting is a personal decision. You need clear information about care, availability, pricing, and what daily life will look like.
Speak with our team about your current condition, discharge or procedure date, mobility, personal care needs, medication routine, outside providers, and preferred stay dates.
We will review your situation and explain what Maison de Serenity can provide.
